 About Studios Création

Mission

Studios Création's mission is to support, promote, and sustain creative practice in the Pontiac region by offering accessible workshops led by artists in a welcoming community setting.
The program offers local artists enriching opportunities to share their knowledge while inviting participants of all ages and experience levels to explore creativity as a living, hands-on practice.

Studios Création bridges the gap between professional artistic practice and community participation, thereby strengthening cultural life in rural Quebec.

Values

Studios Création is guided by a set of simple but deeply held values:

  • Accessibility – Creative opportunities should be open, welcoming, and affordable, regardless of background or prior experience.

  •     Professional respect for artists – Artists are engaged as professionals, fairly compensated, and supported in presenting their work and expertise.

  •     Community connection – Workshops are designed to foster dialogue, shared learning, and authentic human connections.

  •     Curiosity and experimentation – Participants are encouraged to explore materials, processes, and ideas without pressure to achieve perfection.

  •     Local roots – The program reflects the character, rhythms, and creative voices of the Pontiac region.

Why was Studios Création created?

Studios Création was created to address an obvious local need:
the lack of consistent, professionally supported creative programs in the Pontiac region, particularly outside urban centers.

Many local artists had few opportunities to teach or showcase their work nearby, while community members sought enriching and hands-on cultural experiences close to home. Studios Création was born to meet these needs, transforming an existing community space into an active place for learning, creation, and cultural exchange.

The program continues to evolve through partnerships, community feedback, and sustainable growth, with the long-term goal of becoming a permanent creative hub for the region.

Who can participate in Studios Création?

Studios Création is open to a wide variety of people of all ages and backgrounds. The program has been designed to be open, inclusive, and welcoming, with no prior training in visual arts or creative practices required.
No experience is necessary—just a curiosity to explore, learn, and create.

Jeunes

The workshops offer young people a safe and stimulating space to develop their creativity, confidence, and ability to express themselves. Activities are tailored to the age of the participants and promote learning through practice, play, and experimentation.

Seniors

Studios Création recognizes the importance of artistic creation as a vehicle for well-being, socialization, and transmission. Workshops for seniors focus on an accessible pace, caring approaches, and appropriate materials, promoting exchange and the joy of creating together.

Families

Some activities are designed to welcome families, allowing parents and children to share a creative intergenerational moment. These workshops encourage collaboration, mutual discovery, and strengthening bonds through creation.

Accessibility in rural areas

Located in the heart of Pontiac, Studios Création meets a real need for access to professional cultural activities in rural areas. By offering workshops locally, the program reduces barriers related to transportation, geographic isolation, and distance from urban centers.

Community partnerships

Studios Création collaborates with the MRC, community organizations, and artists to develop programming tailored to local realities. These partnerships broaden the program's reach, enable it to reach new audiences, and strengthen the region's cultural fabric.
